Quirks.

Just a little insight on Benjamin Giles Jenkins many quirks.

The other day he was looking for something to eat. He decided to put in a microwave dinner, and while he was waiting for that to cook, he found sardines....

He ate sardines on saltine crackers with a ton of mustard on top. That's not the best part, after his dinner was all warmed up, he refused to eat a piece of broccoli in it because it didn't look good enough.

Bookface Funnies

So I was just browsing the social network and saw this on my friends page. Since it's one in the morning, had to contain my laughter so much that I started crying. Who are these clever people that come up with things like this?!?

Camping trip!

On Monday, Ben and I were feeling a little deprived of a summer. We hadn't done ANYTHING exciting to celebrate the warm months. We had all these ideas of what to do, but everything seems to cost so much money nowa days. We settled on a camping trip the next night, and I put Ben in charge of it 100%. He was happy to take over, and I went to work on Tuesday hoping that when I clocked out, he would have everything put together. Luckily I have an amazing man who loves to do that kind of stuff and really did do everything for us. I invited a few of my friends and we headed up to the camp site. We had a little trouble with some things, but everything turned out great.

We went to Tibble Fork, up American Fork Canyon. It was such beautiful weather, couldn't have been better. We roasted mallows and weenies and played games until it was time to sleep.
The next morning we had a very nice breakfast and Ben decided to start playing with a machete he had brought along. We decided to try and create a real life fruit ninja with some of the left over apples and bananas.
Hannah had locked her keys in her car so we squished 5 of us into Ben's truck and took a drive down to the timp cave entrance, where we got the help of a ranger to follow us back up to the camp site to break into her car. After that adventure we played more games, then decided to pack up for the day. We made one last stop at the reservoir though and had a Young Woman's leader that was there for girls camp take about a million pictures of us.

It was a blast, I hope we can have more fun things like that this summer.

Prince Charming in Carpets

The wedding is only two months away now.
I never thought the day would come! The engagement has been so long, but I don't think I would change a thing. We've had rough patches, we fight, and argue and get a little annoyed with each other sometimes, but I would never pick anyone else to see everyday for the rest of my life.

So.... I thought I'd share one of my favorite stories about Benny. Whenever I'm sad or upset with Ben, I just think about this and I get the biggest smile on my face. It's really simple, nothing extravagant, but it made my night.

So back in December, I was in Pleasant Grove for Christmas break. During the break Ben and I spent the day with his family. Something you should know about Ben's family, they love TJ Maxx. So of course we stopped in at this HUGE TJ Maxx on our outting. While we were there, Ben and I just decided to go exploring. We found a bunch of giant carpets hanging from the ceiling in a way you could flip through them like you can those posters of J Biebs and Hannah Montana at Walmart. We decided to see how far back they went, and once we found the back and we were hidden from the rest of the store, he kissed me.

Now that's not the end.

A few months later, while I was still in St. George, we were just texting each other. He was telling me how he was out with his family shopping. He told me they were back at the same TJ Maxx so I told him to go play in the carpets. After awhile I got this:
with the caption: "Wish you were here!"
I got THEE biggest smile on my face and definitely laughed out loud. It was so subtle, but I love that he does adorable things like that. This is now one of my favorite pictures of him. He's a goof ball and I love him for it!
